FORMER... dies at ..
Harold W. Nichols, a retired mathematics teacher for 34 years, died of cancer yesterday at Tucson Medical Center. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Nichols was born near Santa Ana, CA, March 13, 1906. His family moved to Arizona in 1909, settling near Willcox.
Mr. Nichols graduated with a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in 1932. Her earned a masters degree from the University of Arizona in 1947. He taught in Tucson District 1 schools from 1937 to 1971, his last 28 years at Doolen Junior High School.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his widow, Harriet, and a son, Robert of Tucson. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Ruth Troutman of Willcox, and two brothers, Fred Nichols of Buckeye and Jack Nichols of Palmdale, CA.
Funeral services will be held at Arizona Mortuary, 7 E. University Blvd, at 2pm tomorrow. Burial will follow at Tucson Memorial Park, East Lawn.
