The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Paul Hanson, Mrs. Paul Anderson, Roy Bowman, and Paul Bowman. Miss Irene Lindquist was the organist.
Pallbearers were Kelse Anderson, Homer Anderson, Charles Braun, Chester Lind, Howard Anderson, Jimmie Hamilton.
Burial was in the Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lind was born in Vastergotland, Sweden on April 17, 1880, and came to Georgetown in June 1901.
Mr. Lind, in partnership with his brother, the late Carl Lind, entered the wheelwright and blacksmith business in Georgetown forty-four years ago, and became well-known throughout this area where they made many life long friends.
This partnership was dissolved in 1928, and Philip continued to operate the business at the same location until his death.
Mr. Lind was a man of many talents. He constructed the large building housing his business, practically single-handed. Most of his power tools and machinery were designed and built by him, a fact in which he took great pride.
One of his early inventions, was shock absorbers for Model T Fords, which he manufactured and marketed. In the homes of relatives and friends, are many pieces of furniture he made during his spare time.
Mr. Lind was a man of sterling qualities and was a devout member of long standing of the Evangelical Free Church, Georgetown, and served on the church board in every capacity. He was a deacon in the church at the time of his death. His kind and cheerful disposition won for him many friends, young as well as old.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Lind of Freeport and Lawrence Lind Dahlberg of Brady; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Epperson of Mishawaka, Indiana and Mrs. J. Foy Gardner of Florence.
Also four grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; two brothers and four sisters also survive. All, except one brother, reside in Sweden.
