Message: Hi. This is not a gravestone memorial so no firm dates to use. He is no longer thought to be the Thomas from Yardley so it would be great if you could just amend to be Thomas of Springfield died 5 Jun 1662 and remove all the unsupported data. Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gilbert-196
NOTE: Before making this change, more research will be performed.
.....

(NOTE: One difference I find is the court records say Lydia was hung in Hartford, Conn. At last note the hanging tree still stood. Also she has a marriage date of Nov. 28, 1654 which court records shows this to be the date of her trail. It is not known as yet her marriage date to Thomas but would have been at least three years before that possibly more. Thelma)

Thomas came from England (he was born in Yardley Parish, possibly Worcester)after 1641 with wife, Mary James (married 17 Sep 1639) and their first child, Mary who had been christened in England on 12 Dec 1641.

He signed a marriage contract with an "X" which meant he probably didn't know how to write.

He lived in Windsor, Connecticut (buying land there in 1644/45) and in Springfield.

He married 2nd ( year unknown but before 1650), Lydia, who was convicted of witchcraft and hanged in Windsor, Connecticut.

He married 3rd on either 30 Jun or 31 July 1655 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Catherine Chapin, widow of Nathaniel Bliss. She was daughter of Samuel Chapin and his wife, Cicily Penney.

CHILDREN: (with 3rd wife)
1. Henry, 1 Mar 1661-17 Aug 1740, married Elizabeth Belding

4. Thomas, 15 Mar 1659-14 May 1698, married 4/15 Aug 1680

Below you will find the order of the wives is wrong. But from my memorial I can't change it......Thelma.
