James Robert "Red" Hynes, 85, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his home. James was born April 12, 1925 in Bladen, NE the son of Daniel and Josephine (DeTour) Hynes.
James grew up in Guide Rock, NE and graduated from Guide Rock High School in 1943. After he graduated from high school he entered the US Navy and served in World War II for 5 years. On April 18, 1949 he married Vivian LaVone Hahn and they were married for 61 years. They lived in Harvard from 1953 to 2007 and he worked for the City of Harvard until his retirement in 1991.
James is survived by wife Vivian LaVone of Hastings, NE; children and spouses Terry Hynes and wife Carol of Mesa, AZ; Jan Loutzenhiser and husband Dan of North Platte, NE; Greg Hynes of Lincoln, NE; Melissa Hynes of Lincoln, NE; and Denise Gabaldon and husband Steve of Cave Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Kory Hynes and wife Megan of Omaha, NE; Drew Loutzenhiser of Scottsbluff, NE; Nicole Gibbons of Sussex, NJ; Jocelyn Loutzenhiser of North Platte, NE; and great grandchild, Austin James Hynes of Omaha, NE.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Marie Hynes; and nephew Tim Hynes.
