Biggsville, Ill. - Four hours after suffering a stroke at his home here, John Stevenson Boyd died. Death came at 5 p.m. Feb. 7(1951).
Boyd was the son of John and Elizabeth Stevenson Boyd and was born in the Biggsville vicinity on Oct. 4, 1876. In young manhood he farmed, then moved to Burlington, where he was employed in the water department of the CB&Q railroad. The family later moved back to Biggsville.
Boyd was first married to Henrietta McKee of Biggsville. They were married Feb. 23, 1898. Mrs. Boyd died at Burlington on July 14, 1931, and on March 31, 1933, Boyd was married to Mrs. Martha Wolbert.
The widow survives, as do four children: Roy Boyd, Biggsville; Charles Boyd, Cameron, Ill., and Levon(Pete)Boyd and Joyce Boyd, both at home.
Also surviving are 2 sisters: Mrs. Mary Ann Thomas, Burlington, and Ella Boyd, Biggsville; 3 step-children; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
An infant daughter died previously, as did 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at the United Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Biggsville cemetery. The body is at Mudd chapel
