Israel Ivins Bentley, 89, passed away peacefully, June 3, 1991 in a local nursing home.
Born November 19, 1901 in Colonia, Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Joseph Charles and Margaret McKean Ivins Bentley.
Married Anna Walser, October 4, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Active member LDS Church having served in many, varied positions including, Bishop for 15 years, Northern Mexico Mission President for three years. Church accountant over Missions and Temples.
Comptroller for Long Enterprises. Business manager for Arnold Friberg and an accountant for O.C. Tanner, Co. Member Rotary Club.
Loved horses, outdoor activities, reading and penmanship.
He had a very sweet disposition throughout life and was a tender and caring person that attracted other people.
Survivors: wife, Salt Lake City; sons, Wilbert Ray, San Francisco; Joseph Ivins, Los Angeles; Louis Frank, Salt Lake City; brother and sisters, Jospeh T. Bentley, Provo; Rinda Sudweeks, Lindon, Utah; Lavinia Jackson, El Paso, Texas: 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by sons, Ivins Raynol and Lorel Reed.
Funeral service Wednesday, 11 a.m., Monument Park Stake Center, 1320 S. Wasatch Dr. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 South, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Provo City Cemetery.
