It is further believed that after 1850, Sarah Edwards then married Ephraim Spaulding, father of John Spaulding and future father in law of Sarah. Orpha Elizabeth Edwards, also unknown father, then married William M James after the Civil War. The families ALL came to Arkansas, finally settling in Randolph county. A sister to Sarah and Elizabeth, Nancy (Lauderdale)Self, remained in Alabama, as indicated by a letter written on July 27, 1872. These families are forever entwined, but there are many loose ends.
