Jaunita Christine Bigbie went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Dec. 10, 2010. Jaunita was born to Oval Black Walker and Mark Hatter. John F. Walker was her stepfather. She was born in Roxanna, OK, a long gone oil boomtown in Logan County. The spelling of her name came from a songbook published in 1927. Jaunita graduated the 8th grade from Willard Elementary in Tecumseh, OK and Paden High School, Paden, OK. She was an active member of the Christian Church in Tecumseh. She came to OKC in June 1948 and worked at Katz Drugstore and for Stanley Warner Theatres. She married Wayne T. Bigbie July 22, 1951 at Crestwood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He passed away December 30, 2000. Jaunita never met a stranger and considered everyone a friend. She loved people, animals and painting. Many of her paintings are enjoyed. She was a member of the Mid Del Art Guild. She is survived by her son, Steven Wayne Bigbie and wife, Janis; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wilkinson and family; 2 stepsisters and 1 stepbrother: Barbara, Jessie and family; Dawn Wright and family; and Tommy and family. There will not be any funeral services. Jaunita may be viewed at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Sunday, December 12, 2010, from 8am-9pm.
