He was born December 26, 1902, at Rogersville, a son of the late James E. and Nancy Hoge Adamson. His wife, Martha Louise Goslin Adamson, whom he married August 20, 1923, survives.
Mr. Adamson was a retired coal miner having worked in the Mather mine. He had lived most of his life in Morgan Township where he had been township assessor for eight years.
He was a member of the Mt. Calvery Baptist Church at Lippencott, and UMWA Local 6151, Mather.
Surviving in addition to his wife are eight sons: Charles N., Robert E. and Joseph W., all of Waynesburg, R. D. 1; George, of Library, John K., of Pittsburgh, Benjamine L., of Ravenna, Ohio and James A. and Duane R., both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Lemley, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, and Mrs. Betty Lee Van Druff, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters; Miss Cecelia Adamson, of Waynesburg,. R. D. 1, Mrs. Matie Kahler, in Mich., and Mrs. Cinderella Staggers, of Cambridge, Ohio; two brothers; James A. Adamson, Waynesburg,. R. D. 1, and George K. Adamson, in Mich.
Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
