MRS. SAMUEL SHOOK DIES FOLLOWING BRIEF ILLNESS
Asthma Proves Fatal To Aged Troy Resident --- Funeral Tuesday Afternoon At Home
Mrs. Samuel Shook, 79, died at her home on South Frank street about 11 o'clock Saturday night after being seriously ill for two days. Asthma was the cause of her death.
Mrs. Shook, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Moses of Christiansburg, had lived there all her life until she moved to Troy 19 years ago. She was one of a family of eight children and leaves only one sister, Mrs. Nancy Smith, 88 years old, of Fletcher.
She was a member of the Christian church at Christiansburg for many years before moving her letter to the Troy church.
Besides a host of friends, nieces and nephews, Mrs. Shook is survived by her husband, a son, Charles Warner, of Christiansburg, a step-daughter, Mrs. Rolla Steinmetz, of Troy, an adopted brother, Joseph S. Moses, of Urbana, and her sister of Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Dr. A. E. Kemp in charge.
