She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Meekins and widow of William Gray Midgett. She was a member of the Manteo Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Miss Rosalene Midgett of Manteo; six sons: Zora Midgett, Robert Midgett, Alfred Midgett, Leroy Midgett, all of Manteo, William Midgett of the U.S. Navy and Seldon Midgett of Georgia; three half-sisters: Mrs. A.M. Sanderlin and Mrs. Rebecca Midgett of Manteo and Mrs. D.C. Midgett of Kill Devil Hills; one half-brother, Chief Fred O'Neal of Rodanthe; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 4:30 from the home in Manteo by Rev. M.W. Maness, pastor of the Manteo Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Manteo Cemetery. Pallbearers were D.D. Whitson, Dave Midgett, Hatton Midgett, Rhyne Midgett, Roland Sawyer and Earle Meekins.
