Mr. William Hollingsworth died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Callie Spencer in Paint township, Feb. 17, 1903, aged 82 years and 6 months. The deceased had a severe attack of pneumonia in November and December of last year, and his death was hourly expected, but contrary to expectation he recovered sufficiently to be able to go about the house and to go outside upon nice days. A severe cold or an attack of "grippe" again confined him to the house and he sank rapidly, dying triumphantly on Feb. 17. He had been a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal church; was a class leader and exhorter for many years. He was a whole-hearted Christian, earnestly working for the success of his church and the Master's cause. His place in the work must long remain vacant. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter Wednesday evening, Feb. 18, at 8 o'clock, services in charge of his pastor, Rev. W. C. Wallace of Lumber City. The next day the remains were taken to Glen Hope where services were held in the Methodist Episcopal Church by Revs. John Vrooman of Glen Hope and W. C. Wallace. After the services the interment was made at Hegarty's Cross Roads burying ground.
