MRS. JENNY FLORENCE BACHTELL, 91, Cavetown, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, after an illness of three years.
Born at Foxville, she was the daughter of Ephraim and Ellen (Gordon) Hauver.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greensburg.
The widow of Daniel E. Bachtell, she had resided in the Smithsburg area for the past 50 years.
Mrs. Bachtell was the last surviving member of her generation of her family.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Mary B. Guillermain, Washington D.C.; Mrs. Eva H. Kimble, Cavetown; nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Minnich Funeral Home, Smithsburg. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The casket will not be opened, and omission of flowers has been requested.
