Harry E. Anderson, a former resident of Frostburg, died Thursday, August 2, 1979 in Arcadia, California. He was 86 years of age.
Friends will be received from 7-9 Thursday in the Deeley Funeral Home, in Punxsutawney. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hopewell United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev., Richard A. Eddinger and the Rev. Warren Anderson, Mr. Anderson's son. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Frostburg.
Mr. Anderson was born January 28, 1893 in Frostburg, the son of Andrew and Sarah (Mauk) Anderson. He was married to the former Ella McMillen, who survives. A resident of California since 1957, he was a retired coal miner and involved with direct sales. A former member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Mr. Anderson was active in the Arcadia Community and Church affairs and was a very active outdoor enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife; one son, the Rev. Warren Anderson of Arcadia, California; one daughter, Mrs. Mable Alice Steenbergen of Hamilton, Ohio; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; two brothers: Arthur Anderson of Indiana and David Anderson of Lucernmines; and one sister, Mrs. Laura Smith of Lucernmines.
