Marie G. Kirchner, 71, St. Patrick, died Friday, December 8, 2000 at Keokuk Area Hospital. Born November 4, 1929 in St. Patrick, she was the daughter of George and LaVon Logsdon Wiegand. She married John Nick Kirchner on November 11, 1972 in Kahoka. He survives. Mrs. Kirchner was a 1947 graduate of St. Patrick High School, a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick and the United Rubber Worker Union. She had been employed by Sheller Globe in Keokuk for 42 years and 10 months before retiring in 1992. Survivors include four sons, Mike Kirchner and wife Gerry, Wayland; Mark Kirchner and wife Julie, Kahoka; David Kirchner and wife Kim, Montrose, Iowa; Bill Davis, Davenport, Iowa; three daughters, Joann Spurgeon and husband Larry, Canton; Joyce Sedore and husband Roger, Wyaconda, and Jeanne Bowman, Panama City, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Kirchner and husband Arnold, Williamstown; one brother, George Joe Wiegand and wife Bernie, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, Missouri, with Father Thomas Alber and Deacon Bill Cosgrove officiating.
