Flora was married to J. R. "Bob" Leatherwood on March 9, 1887 just after her twenty second birthday. Rev. D. C. Howell performed the ceremony. She and Bob were the parents of Margaret Clara Dare who married Jerry Caldwell; Nana Angeline who married C. M. Moody; Joe Gilmer who married Ernestine Ludwick; Pauline who married Claude Medford; Davis Francis who married Mary Louise King; and Dennis Bryan who married Mary Walker.

Flora and Bob resided in the lower Jonathan Creek area which was not far across Coleman Mountain from where she grew up in Iron Duff. After she died at the early age of thirty two, after only a little more than ten years of marriage, Bob married her sister-in-law Louisa Medford Davis, the widow of James Jim" Nathan Davis who had died of typhoid.

Flora's oldest sister, Lorena Davis Rogers, named one of her daughters after Flora, and that Flora, too, died young at the age of eighteen.
