Opal Jean Moody Beckham, 67, of Darien died Saturday, 05 MAY 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Northside Baptist Church of Darien with the Revs. B.E. Hannan and Andy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien.

Pallbearers are Dennis Goodrich, Chris Colson, Scott Davis, Tom Dunan, Cecil Lyons and Phillip Payton.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Northside Baptist Church Sunday school class, the McIntosh Enterprises Service Center staff, and Dr. James Snow.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.

Surviving are two daughters, Annette Todd of Darien, and Myra Millen of Satelite Beach, Fla.; one son, Aaron Beckham Jr. of Darien; four brothers, Fred Moody, Joe Moody, and Carroll Moody, all of Hortense, and John Moody of Freeport, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Beckham was a native of Brantley County and had lived in McIntosh County for 47 years. She was an employee of the State of Georgia for 23 years. She was an honorary submariner on the U.S.S. Maine 741 (gold crew). She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was wonderful with children and fostered many.
