Edward D. Cain,Jr, 79, who was electrical superintendent at the Alabama State Docks for 25 years, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile and was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Reise Club, Sierra Club, I.B.E.W., The Siena Club and Council 666 of the Knights of Columbus. He was a fourth degree Knight.
He was at one time very active in radio controlled boating.
Survivors include his wife Marie Rohmer Cain of Mobile; two sons, Edward J Cain Sr of Grand Bay and David F Cain of Mobile; three sisters, Margaret McCormie, Theresa Seelhorst and Rosemary Matthews, all of Mobile; two brothers, Leo J Cain, SR. of Belle Fountain snd Thomas E Cain Sr. of Mobile; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Pius Friday at 10 am. Visitation will be at Roche-Belmany Mortuary Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. The rosary will be recited at 7pm. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
