The son of Richard and Ursula (Scott) Kimball, (according to Cutter in "Gen. & Personal Memoirs Relating to Families of Boston & Eastern Mass., p. 1320), he was born in Rattlesden, Suffolk, Eng. and came to America with his father in the good ship, ELIZABETH.
He was a proprietor of Wenham, Mass. Bay Colony and settled there between 1652 and 1656 in the western part near Ladd's hill. He was a grand juror in 1661, a large landholder , a selectman for thirteen years, was appointed to various committees, and was called a wheelwright and a yeoman. In 1664, he was living in Topsfield.
Richard married (1) Mary ____, who died Sept. 2, 1672, and (2) Mary (probably Gott) who survived him.
