Russell J. Braucher, 66, 3335 Friendsville Rd., Wooster, died Saturday evening, Feb. 18, 1989 at Wooster Community Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at 11a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Alan E. Nathan officiating.

Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, where Masonic memorialservices will be held at 6:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Cancer Fund, 560 Winter St., Wooster, or to the Memorial Fund at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691.

He was born in Canton in 1922 to Russell H. and Edna Mary Stiquel Braucher and was married to Phyllis Shisler Braucher for 15 years. She survives. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korea and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Canton. He had been employed part-time for Yund Car Washes in Wooster.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fidelity Lodge No. 712 F&AM in Canton, Scottish Rite Valley in Canton, Madisonburg Lions Club and Mens Bible fellowship in Orrville, Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepsons, Lynn and Jay Ratzel both of Wooster; two Step-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Ayres of Louisville.
