William Bieker
FRANKLIN CO. OBSERVER – Feb. 26, 1915
William Bieker, a prominent and highly respected farmer, died at his home three miles southeast of Washington, Monday afternoon at 1:15 o’clock, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 28 days. Death was due to a four months’ illness with dropsy.
Mr. Bieker was born February 24, 1853, in Ruhlkirchen, Essen, Germany, and was the son of Henry Bieker and Mary Elizabeth Bieker (nee Nau). He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Louis Elbert, John Bieker, Miss Casssilda Bieker, Cornelius, Gregor and Martin Bieker; two brothers Otto Bieker of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Anton Bieker of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Ernst of St. Louis, Mrs. Veronica Bauernaschmidt of St. Louis and Mrs. George Buhr of Washington.
The funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9 o’clock at the residence and at 10 o’clock at the St. Francis Borgia Church, thence to the church cemetery. (Submitted by Patricia Fabri)
