William Thomas "W.T." Batchelor Jr., 86, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. He was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Nash County. He was the son of the late William Thomas Batchelor and Mary Della Edmondson Batchelor. Mr. Batchelor was an avid horseman and always enjoyed talking to others who shared his love for horses. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Eunice Langley Batchelor; his sister, Mary Lessie Batchelor; and a grandson, Travis Grant Batchelor.
He is survived by four sons, Billy Ray Batchelor and wife, Gail Turner Batchelor, Alvin Wayne Batchelor Sr. and wife, Martha Short Batchelor, Albert Thomas Batchelor and wife, Judy Green Batchelor, and Ralph Derwood Batchelor and wife, Sylvia Whitley Batchelor; and one daughter, Deborah Batchelor Kincheloe and husband, John Bulluck Kincheloe. He is also survived by one brother, Vernon Carl Batchelor Sr.; and one sister, Myrtle Batchelor Vick. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville. Funeral Service will be Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery of Nashville.
