~MY ANCESTOR~
The son of HENRY & SUSANNA/SUSAN KINGSBURY, he married SARAH BUTTON on Jan. 6, 1673 in Haverhill, Mass.
He took the oath of allegiange in Haverhill on Nov. 28, 1677.
The families of James Kingsbury and his brother-in-law, Matthias Button, Jr. removed to Plainfield, Windham, CT. and were listed as settlers on the east side of the river in 1699 when the town charter was written. Twenty four proprietors received allotments of 100 acres each which included James Kingsbury and Matthias Button, Jr. He received and settled on a tract of land in Plainfield,which included Dumpling Hill, originally purchased by John Winthrop, Jr. from Allumps, the Indian Sachem.

The date of his death and place of burial are unknown.
