Mary Ellen (Lehr) Bandt, age 43, of 6658 Portage Rd., DeForest, died on February 2, 1985 at the local hospital following an extended illness. She was born on September 29, 1941. She was employed by the State of Wisconsin and married Donald on March 30, 1968. She was a 1959 graduate of Madison East High School. She was a lifelong member of the Burke Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Donald; three sons, Gerry (Tammy) Grothues, Steve Grothues and Tom Bandt all of DeForest; two brothers, Robert (Sandy) Lehr of DeForest and Ronald Lehr of Sun Prairie; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, also many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Allie in 1970 and her mother, Clara in 1980. Funeral services will be held at the Burke Lutheran Church, Route 1, Portage Road, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 1985, with the Reverend David S. Magnuson officiating. Burial will be in the Burke Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 1985, at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive.
