Elizabeth is the daughter of Charles Parks and Elizabeth Bailey. She married James Boyd, farmer and grist mill owner and they are the parents of Jane Boyd Peden, William B Boyd, Sallie Boyd, Nancy Boyd Balentine, David Boyd, Isaac Preston Boyd, Elizabeth Boyd, Catherine Harris Boyd Pitts, James Foster Boyd and Margaret Boyd.
James owned considerable acreage and a grist mill. He died in an accident in his grist mill.
