HOWARD McCAULEY
Howard McCauley, 86, a longtime Williston resident of 720 13th Ave. W., died Saturday, Sept. 3, 1988, in the Presbyterian Hospital, Denver, Colo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Everson Funeral Home, Williston. Pastor Martin Heide will officiate and burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Williston.
Charles Howard McCauley was born June 24, 1902, in Devils Lake to John and Isabella (Broad) McCauley. He was reared there and attended local schools. He married Ruth Kavanaugh Jan. 18, 1936, at Devils Lake. They established their home there, where Mr. McCauley was employed by the Fairmont Creamery. He lived there through the years until moving to McGregor in 1951. They moved to Williston in 1955. Mr. McCauley had been employed by the Williston Elks Lodge for 10 years and had worked for the First Lutheran Church and the Williston library since.
Mr. McCauley is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, Charles of Williston, Jackie of Phelam, Calif., and Tommy of Burbank, Calif.; one grandson, Kelly, who the McCauleys reared; five daughters, Mrs. Thais Barden of Strasberg, Colo., Mrs. Rita Lemer of Bennett, Colo., Mrs. Wanda Mitchell of Inverness, Fla., Arlis Ann McCauley of Fargo and Kay McCauley of Glastonbury, Conn.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Florence Witcup [Wittkop] of Portland, Ore.
Mr. McCauley was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the Everson Funeral Home of Williston.
