"ELLIS, Mrs. Cornelia May, wife of Robert N. Ellis and daughter of the late Dr. Louis L. and Mrs. C. J. Ledbetter, died in Greenville on Friday morning the 4th of April, aged thirty-three years; born near McDonough, Henry county, Ga. on the 18th of May, 1845, removed to Atlanta with her parents at an early age, she entered LaGrange Female College at age 14, her father having settled in LaGrange; lengthy memorial by "Brother"; Vol. 7, No. 17, April 11, 1879, page 3 Meriwether Vindicator."

She had two children:
i. "Mamie Ellis "ELLIS, little Mamie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Ellis, in Greenville on Thursday morning the 16th of membranous croup, aged two years, 11 months and 18 days; Vol. 1, No. 44, October 17, 1873, page 3 Meriwether Vindicator."

ii.Luarie Ellis, born 1875, Greenville, Ga.. He is mentioned in Cornelia Byrd Ledbetter's letter to Ivy Lee, dated 1901 as living in Seattle, Washington. I am not sure that the spelling of his first name is correct. He is listed on the 1880 Census.
