OBITUARY
DEPORT TIMES 20 Dec 1918, Friday..
(from microfilm in the Clarksville Library)
Another sweet and splendid young woman has been called from our community by the terrible epidemic that has been sweeping the country for months. After an illness of only a weeks duration, Mrs. Ivey Roberts passed away at the home of her parents last Sunday.
Monday the funeral was conducted by Rev. George Veteto of Bogata and intermenyt made at the Deport Cemetery.
Deceased was the second child of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Bell of Rugby and was twenty years old. She was born and grew to womanhood at that place and had served as telephone operator of the exchange.
Our readers will recall that for more than two years she supplied THE TIMES with news from that community.
About a year ago she was married to Ivey Roberts. They moved to Clarksville, but remained there only a short time returning to Rugby. Hers was a beautiful Christian life, so sweet and pure that its influence will live for many years.
The sympathy of all our people for the parents, brothers, sisters and other relatives goes out to them at this time.
