A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Bodie was a son of the late Fred and Mattie Lee Whittle Bodie. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. Survivors, in addition to his wife Martha, include a daughter, Beverly (Andy) Morrell, Aiken, two sons; Gene Edward Bodie, Aiken and Jimmy Edward (Cathy) Bodie, Meridian, MS; a step-daughter, Beth (Wayne) Jordan, Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Marie (Lavon) Carver, Aiken; two brothers; F. W. (Lillie Mae) Bodie, Aiken and Heyward Bodie, Aiken; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Elizabeth and Leland Marion Bodie, Jr.; a sister, Helen French and a brother Carl Bodie. Interment in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
