James K. Benedict, 70, of 2103 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died of a heart attack at his home Monday morning.
Born in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Ohlick and Virgina (Shockey) Benedict.
He was a member of the Emmanuel EUB Church and Friendly Philathea Class of the Sunday School. He had worked at the Naval Proving Grounds, Dalhgren, Va., retiring 17 years ago.
Surviving are his widow Margaret Benedict; son, James H. Benedict, Hagerstown; daughter, Mrs Janet McClelland, Forestville; sisters, Mrs. Rella Deardorff and Mrs. Lola Cashman, both of Waynesboro.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Ira Keperling officiating. Burial Will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
