Mrs. Anna Whitehead who was for many years a resident of Watkinsville, died at midnight Tuesday night at the home of her son, Mr. Fred Whitehead, in Athens, after an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Whitehead had reached the advanced age of 85 years. She was the wife of Mr. J.E. Whitehead, one of the most prominent and respected citizens of Oconee, who died several years ago.
She is survived by four sons, Messrs. W.W. Whitehead, of this city, A.H. and J.F. Whitehead, of Athens, and A.P. Whitehead, of Atlanta, besides a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
