Maxine Gerstenberger Tillman, 84, lost her fight with cancer on January 1, 2007.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Roller Funeral Home with the family in attendance. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery on Military Road, south of Mountain Home.

Maxine was born July 18, 1922 to Max and Anna (Franzmeier) Gerstenberger in their home on Military Road. She attended Oak Grove School and graduated eighth grade from there. She married Melvin Tillman from Springdale, AR in 1954 and they spent the next twelve years traveling throughout the western U.S. In 1966, they returned to Arkansas and settled in Cotter where she enjoyed her home, family and friends and all types of gardening and being outdoors.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Kenneth) Floyd of Cotter, AR, step-daughters, Ruby (Julian) Silva of Tooele, UT, Ellen Owens of Prineville, OR, and step-son, Ron Tillman (Loretta) of Boring, OR; grandchildren Amber Colvin and Heath Cummings of Cotter, Tara Connors of Lake Mills, WI, Matt Floyd of Murfreesboro, TN, Ron Silva of Tooele, UT, Roger (Wendy) Silva of St. George, UT , Carrie, Sara and Austin Owens of Prineville, OR and Steve and Scott Tillman of Boring, OR; great-grandchildren Brycie (Niall) Pyper, Samantha (Curtis) Vincent, Heather Oakes, Matt Tillman, Cody Crain, Kendra Krull, Chase Connors, and Lukas Weinhert; great-great grandchildren Shimmer and Isabella Pyper, Asia, Paris, and Ireland Silva and Halie Oakes. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bertha Gerstenberger , a host of nieces and nephews , "almost" daughters, Sean Dennis and Diane Duggins, and friends too numerous to name.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Tillman, her parents, Max and Anna Franzmeier Gerstenberger, two brothers, Alfred and Harold Gerstenberger, a sister, Myrtle Tish, a sister-in-law, Bobe Gerstenberger, and a niece, Mary Jensen.
