Appleby "Jess"

Jessica, our sweet, beautiful daughter, sister and friend, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, December 13, 2010 at the age of 23.

Jessica was a graduate of Charter High School, class of 2005, and was currently attending the School of Nursing at Del Tech, due to graduate in the spring of 2011. A true care-giver, she generously and sincerely gave her time and talent to many. She especially enjoyed volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and was an avid piano player. She took great pride in completing a half marathon race and was excited to begin her career in nursing.

Jessica will be lovingly remembered by her parents, David and Liz; her siblings, Shawna Dineen and her husband, Larry, Dave Jr., Joe and Emma; and her favorite nephew, Caden. In addition, she is survived by her grandparents, Joseph C. Osborne, and Robert and Barbara Appleby; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; her boyfriend, Tripp Madden; many friends, including her best friend, Mary Douglas; and her beloved dogs, Harvey and Roma.

Jessica was predeceased by her grandmother, Margaret Osborne.

In keeping with her spirit of caring and generosity, Jessica was an organ donor and has contributed to the health and well-being of 7 people to date.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Monday, December 20 at 10 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may visit at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Sunday, December 19 from 2 - 5 pm.

In honor of Jessica, an account has been established for the continued care of one of her dear patients. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial donations to the Jessica Appleby Angel Fund, PO Box 5041, Wilmington, DE 19808.
