Coleman – Funeral for Ira Burl Farmer, 80, of Novice, who died Friday at 3:45 p.m. in a Santa Anna hospital, was held Saturday at 4 p.m. in Stevens Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Coleman Cemetery.
Born Nov. 15, 1881, in Kennedale, Mr. Farmer was married Aug. 17, 1902 to Nannie Anderson in Coleman. She preceded him in death.
He had been a resident of Coleman for 71 years, moving from Tarrant County. He was a retired stock farmer and a member of the Masonic lodge.
Surviving are two sons, Lee of Pharr and Brice of Novice; one daughter, Mrs. T. G. Cooper, Abilene; two brothers, W. A. and T. L., both of Novice; three sisters, Mrs. Allen Sewell of Novice, Mrs. Susie Pope of Freeport and Mrs. W. L. Killebrew of Temple; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
