Services for Nolen N. Baker, 70, of Lufkin, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Mr. Baker was born August 24, 1926, in Orange, Texas, and he died Thursday, November 14, 1996, in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Baker was a retired Assistant Yard Master, Railroad Department for Dow Chemical Company. He had served in the U. S. Marines during World War II. Mr. Baker was a member of Central Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Lufkin for the past 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Verba L. Baker; daughter, Sharon Baker of Clute; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Sue Baker of Angleton; 4 grandchildren, Marie Bryant, Christy Glover, Carrie Smith and Jamie Lee Baker; brother, Arthur Lee Baker of Montague, Texas; sisters, Lucyl Block of Orange, Jackie Mancil of Huntsville and Ellen Gandy of Austin; nieces and nephews.
