In 1920 she and her parents and four siblings lived on Caroline Street in what was then Mifflin Township, Allegheny County, PA. In 1944 most of Mifflin Township became West Mifflin Borough; Caroline Street is now in Munhall. Her father worked in a rolling mill.

In 1930 she and her parents and four siblings lived in Union Township, Lawrence County, PA. Her father was pensioned from U.S. Steel. Also living with them was her father's aunt and uncle, William and Margaret Lenhart.

In 1940 she and her husband and their three children lived in North Beaver Township, Lawrence County, PA. They were paying $12 a month rent. Mack worked as a shipper for Sears, Roebuck, and Company and in 1939 had an income of $1300.

In 1950 the five of them lived in probably the same house, which was on Road 37059 between Roads 108 and 378. Mack worked as a stock clerk in a department store, with an income in 1949 of $3432 for 52 weeks of work.
