Bryce C. Meers, 77, died Tuesday, November 3, 1998, in a Wichita Falls Hospital following a lengthy illness. Graveside services were held Friday, November 6, 1998, at Wilbarger Memorial Park, Vernon, Texas, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Irl Holt officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Meers was born on December 21, 1920, in Goree, Texas, son of the late Floyd and Lillie Bartlett Meers. He married Viola Navaratil on October 8, 1949, in Seymour, Texas.

Mr. Meers moved to Vernon in 1959, from Seymour. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He owned and operated numerous laundromats for over 35 years.

Survivors include: His wife Viola Meers; one son, Richard Meers and wife, Karen; two sisters, Cloe Saunders and Irene Saunders; three grandchildren, Stephen, Andy, and Kelly Meers.
