Her father was William Washburn. He was killed by Indians 1853 near Red River, Texas. His father Samuel Washburn was killed 1838 near Bois d'Arc Creek. She received land in Grayson County from her grandfather Samuel. She and her husband William B. Raburn sold the land and moved to Hood County. William and Mary Ann Raburn had 6 children [Meredith Hart, Theodocia Ann, Jane (died young), James Robert, Mary Alice, and Willie Ellen Raburn]. After William died, Mary Ann married William's best friend James Hickey. They had one son Charles James Hickey. She was blind for many years prior to her death according to my grandmother Audrey Docia Raburn Green.
