A veteran of the Korean War, he worked for VANAIR Products in Lake City for almost 20 years and retired from Rockwell Trucking in 1995. He was also a dairy farmer. He attended the Meadville Wesleyan Methodist Church and was a minister of the Free Methodist Church in Girard.
Mr. Beers was preceded in death by one brother, William Beers, and a grandson. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Valjean M. Witherall Beers; one daughter, Mrs. James (Lori A.) Harrison of Cochranton; two sons, Mark N. Beers of Warren, Vt., and Tom W. Beers of Meadville; one sister, Mrs. Mark (Garnett) Williams of Hydetown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Hatheway- Tedesco Funeral Home in Meadville. Rev. Ronald Pelton, of Meadville Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Greendale Cemetery.
