"Jim," as he was known by most, was born Nov. 13, 1938, in Dowagiac, the son of Everett and Vina (Craig) Edgerly, both of whom precede him in passing. He was also preceded by his stepfather, "Dad" Roy Hann; three brothers – John Edgerly, Bill Hann and Paul Edgerly; and a sister, Velma Ehler.
Jim was the owner and operator of the B&E Clothing Store in Hartford for many years. He was also employed at the jewelry stores in Hartford (until its closing) and Dowagiac, as well as with James Heddon Sons in Dowagiac. Outside of the workplace, Jim enjoyed flying and had built his own ultralight aircraft and was a member of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association).
