MATTOON - Mary Elizabeth Authenreith, 84, Mattoon, retired Merele Reeves Shop seamstress, died Sunday (Dec. 12, 2010). Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Mattoon. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Mattoon. Memorials: Lincolnland Hospice or donor's choice.

MATTOON - Mary Elizabeth Authenreith, 84, of Mattoon, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Douglas Rehabilitation and Care Center in Mattoon. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 320 North 21st Street in Mattoon with Father Dennis Kollross celebrating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schilling Funeral Home 1301 Charleston Ave., Mattoon. Mary was born on July 24, 1926 in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of John and Anna (Myers) Schomaker. She married Charles Authenreith on February 5, 1947. Survivors include her son David C. Authenreith and wife Kathleen of Plainfield, Indiana; her daughters Sharon S. Neathery and husband Doug of Wichita, Kansas, Cathy A. Dryer and husband Bob of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren Megan Neathery, Sarah Neathery, Kyle Authenreith, Shane Authenreith; her sisters Helen Spurlin of Speedway, Indiana, Jean Wolff of Mattoon and her great grand-child Charles Randall Neathery She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother John Shomaker and sister Theresa Putnam. Mary was a member of the Red Hat Club, Women of the Eagles and the Immaculate Conception Church. She retired from Merele Reeves Shop in 1978 after twenty years of service in sales and as a seamstress. Memorial donations in her honor are suggested to Lincolnland Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
