Joe Palmer Elmore, 90, a resident of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community, widower of Billie Tench Elmore, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010, at the Hospice House of Laurens County. Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Eugene and Maggie Culbertson Elmore. He retired from 3M and was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Jerry Elmore and wife Priscilla of Laurens and Stanley J. Elmore of NC; one sister, Rosa Bootle of Laurens; grandchildren, Jason Elmore, Paige Bagwell, and April Hutcheson; and great grandchildren, Palmer Holt, Rebekah Holt, Hannah Hutcheson, and Lucy Bagwell. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carlos Elmore and Ansel Elmore; and two sisters, Ethel Phillips and Lois Pyke. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Dr. Bev T. Kennedy, Jr. and Rev. Tony Crouch.
