Robert "Bob" D. Nowak, born Feb. 14, 1926, in Oakland, Calif., to Pauline and Clark Nowak. Got his wings, Dec. 9, 2010.

**Loving "Pa-pa" to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others.

Bob loved his God, his family, and his country more than life itself. He left home at an early age to enlist into the Army during World War II. He served his country in Europe as a sharpshooter. He was awarded the following medals: The European Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal.

After the war, he moved to Amarillo and began his career at Miller Printing. In his 30 years with Miller, Bob rarely missed a day of work, mentored many co-workers and finished his career and bindery foreman.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman, camper and fisherman; passions he had passed down to his children and grandchildren. He loved coaching and watching his children and grandchildren compete athletically.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clark Nowak; and a grandson, Aaron Irwin.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three children, Suzan Eggleston and Toni Berry, both of Amarillo, and Bobby Nowak of Pinetop, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Ashton Nowak, Britt Berry, Allie Irwin and Brandi Hardee; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
