Mrs. Hare, of Fillmore, rural Wykoff, died Monday (June 19, 2006) in Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been hospitalized for two days.
Vivian Auman was born July 24, 1918, in Fillmore, and was a 1937 graduate of Wykoff High School. She married Frank Hare on July 10, 1937, in Preston. He died in 1992. They lived in Fillmore until 1993, then she moved to Chatfield and resided in the Lakewood Apartments from 1993 until 2003. She then lived in St. Charles assisted living for three years. She worked at Osco Drug in Rochester as a clerk for 17 years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include three sons, Merlin (Donna) of Rochester, Lyman (LuAnn) of Chatfield and Duane (Betty Winter) of Webster, Wis.; a daughter, Sharyn (Marvin) Vehrenkamp of St. Charles; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Allen (Mabel) Auman of Rochester, Clayton (Jane) Auman of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Robert (Marlene) Auman of Coon Rapids, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
