Bertie married John Jacob Freundlich 27 Oct 1893 in Indiana. He died sometime between 1908 and 1910; I have not located his grave site. They did not have children.
Bertie moved to Los Angeles prior to the 1910 census. She lived with her mother until and after her second marriage to Adam Riley (Riley) Parkhurst on 8 Jul 1916 in Fullerton, Orange County, California. I don't believe there were any children from this union either.
After her husband died in 1936, Bertie lived with her sister Ida Mellen, also widowed. Per the 1940 US Census, she was a matron for a movie studio.
She was the namesake for Bertie (Bert) Joe Allison, the son of her niece Lillie May Clark (her sister Ada's daughter) and Arthur Adelbert Allison. She was the contact person for Bert and Arthur on their World War II draft registration forms.
I'm related to Bertie by marriage. Arthur Adelbert Allison is my first cousin, twice removed. If you are a blood relative of Bertie, I will be happy to transfer management of her memorial to you. In the meantime, I'll gladly be her caretaker.
