Mrs. Anna Fae Knox Markham ws born in Houston County, on July 19, 1919 and passed away on March 25, 2003, in Crockett. Mrs. Markham is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, John W. Markham, II of Trinity; three sons John W. Markham III and wife Judy of Ore City, G. K. (Jeff) Markham and wife Pam, of Huntsville, and Randall S. Markham and wife Nancy, of Deer Park; six grandchildren Jodi Renee Markham Miller and husband Mark, of San Antonio, John W. Markham IV, Jana Carol Markham Minor and husband Don, of Ore City, Kevin S. Markham and wife Cindy, of Huntsville, Brandi L. Markham, of LaPorte, and David C. Markham, of Huntsville; ten great-grandchidlren Alex and Kendall Miller, of San Antonio, Elizabeth Markham; of Hayden, Colo., Hunter and Riley Markham, Kaitlin Camp, and Austin Minor, all of Ore City, Mason and Coyann Markham, of Huntsville, and Samantha Rogers, of LaPorte; brother-in-law, Tom S. Markham, of Leona; sisters-in-law Nila Knox, of Conroe and Eloisse Knox, of Crockett; and a special friend and caregiver Rhonda McDonald, of Trinity; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends throughout TX.
Mrs. Markham was predeceased by her father and mother Sam and Ella White Knox; five brothers Herman, Clifford, Holley, Buford and Neal Knox; and four sisters Thelma Morrow, Ruby Wilson, Beulah Holiday and Vera Hartt.

Mrs. Markham was extremely proud of her family and was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Mrs. Markham was also very proud of her career. After all her children were born, she attended Sam Houston State College, graduating with teaching certification. The family then moved from Trinity to Deer Park, where she began teaching while attending the University of Houston at night and in the summers. Mrs. Markham completed the Master in Education Degree with certification as a school counselor, taught in the La Porte Independent School District and retired from Deer Park Independent School District after 24 years as a counselor at Deer Park Junior High School. In 1981 Anna and John return to Trinity, where they became active members of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Markham also devoted her time to Delta Kappa Gamma and friends of the Library in Trinity. Mrs. Markham enjoyed music, singing, traveling, playing bridge with her friends, and being a wife and grandmother.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Fae Knox Murkham will be held Thursday, March 27, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Trinity, with the Rev. Kevin King officiating. interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial park in Crockett. Pallbearers will be John W. Markham IV, Kevin S. Markham, David C. Markham, Mark Miller, Don Minor, and Terry Morrow.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staffs of East TX Medical Center in Crockett and Trinity for their care and attention extended to Anna.
