From c.1951 cemetery transcriptions by Mrs Max Lederer Jr: "Mrs. Joanna French, lies buried here who died Mar 22 1774 in the 83 year of her age with six of her grandchildren"... manuscript reads "following this stone are six very old brownstone tombstones. If there ever were any inscriptions, they are gone now [c.1951]. Probably these are the 'six grandchildren'."
In the Conway Vital records, Joanna is given as a widow, and the notation about the grandchildren is evidently taken from the tombstone. The name "French" is discernible on some of the stones. There is nothing in the vital records to indicate just who "Joanna" was. It says: "French - Joanna, wid., Mar 22, 1774, a 82, in C. ("with six of her Grandchildren.")
