Death of Mrs. John Shaw
The people of Stockton and vicinity regretted very much to learn early Wednesday morning that Mrs. John Shaw passed away at 11:30 Tuesday night. For many months Mrs. Shaw had been a great sufferer, and everything that the physicians could do, was done, with a hope that she might regain good health.
Throu8ghout her long illness her husband and children and many kind friends have been greatly devoted to her and no kindness was left undone. Mrs. Shaw, while confined to her bed almost constantly, never gave up, but displayed an unusual amount of courage, yet she fully realized that death was near.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Aurora, Kansas, July 5, 1871.
She was united in marriage September 6, 1871 to John Shaw, who, with two sons, survive.
They surely have the sympathy of all who know them.
She was a woman highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was an active member of the Royal Neighbors and was one of the charter members of this lodge, which will have charge of the services, which will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house, after which services will be held at the M.E. church. Rev. Talmadge assisted by Rev. Grey, will preach the funeral sermon.
The remains will be escorted to the Stockton Cemetery by the Royal Neighbors and M.W. of A.
