Daniel D. Miller, 66, a retired farmer of Rt. 2, Bucyrus since 1942, died at 3:48 p.m. yesterday in Galion Community Hospital of heart failure after an illness of two years.
Mr. Miller was born May 23, 1904 to the late Logan and Matalda Miller in Lawrence County. Grace Irene Spurgeon became his first wife in 1929; she died Sept. 19, 1950. He married his second wife, Clara Webb Castle, July 9, 1954; she survives with seven children by his first marriage.
They are John R. Miller, Mrs. Andrew (Phyllis) Granto, Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Volkmer, Terry E. Miller, Wilbur J. Miller, Allen D. Miller, and Larry L. Miller, all of Bucyrus. There is also a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles (Marie) DeLong, of Bucyrus. There are 14 grandchildren who survive.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by one brother and one sister but four brothers survive in Springfield: James Emerson Stanley, Wheeler and George Lewis Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, with the Rev. M.P. Paetznick of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be made in Brokensword Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
