DEATH OF MRS. MISSOURI ELIZABETH COX
On the morning of April 5th, the death angel visited the home of Mr. W.H. Cox and claimed for its victim the precious wife and mother, Missouri Elizabeth Cox. She has been in ill health for a number of years but only a few weeks before the end came did her condition seem to be so serious. She bore her suffering with all patience until God in his infinite wisdom looked down and said "it is enough, come up higher."

Mrs. Cox was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry. Mrs. Cox was born on October 12, 1873 and was married to W.H. Cox on February 25, 1890. She united with the Methodist church at Hurricane in August 1908 and lived a faithful christian until her death.

She leaves a husband and ten children, five boys and five girls; four brothers and five sisters to mourn her departure.

It can be truly said by all who knew her, a good woman has gone and in her home is a vacancy which can never be filled. Yet the sacred memroy and her noble virtues shall live after her, for the bible tells us that "blessed are the dead which die in the lord, from henceforth, yea, sayeth the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them." I believe that the gentle teaching and the kind advice she always gave her children will forever live in their hearts and lead them in the right way. It is hard for us to understand why the cycle has been so wielded as to take from us one who was so loved but we must remember that the "lord giveth and the lord taketh away." Burl Pirkle
